Construction of the fire curtains in class E | EW

GSF KPR E | EW fire curtain is constructed of a flexible curtain coat, set of guides, a shaft housing, a ballast strip, an electric motor or a fusible lock.

The curtain coat is made of fire-resistant fabric, the elements of which are connected with special fire-resistant threads. A properly sewn side edge of the jacket allows it to be easily moved in the side guide. The lower edge of the coat is finished with a ballast strip. The length of the flexible coat is selected so that when fully unrolled, the ballast strip tightly adheres to the threshold surface.

The guides and the shaft housing are made of galvanized sheet steel.

How a fire curtain works

Fire curtain GSK KPR E | EW holds the tubular motor or fusible lock in the open position.

A fire curtain with a tubular drive (automatic) is lowered when a fire occurs and the signal from the control unit is transmitted to the drive, separating a fire-free zone.

A curtain with a fusible lock when a  fire occurs and reaches a temperature of approx. 74°C, the fuse lock melts, which causes the coat to fall gravitationally and separate it from fire.

Application of rolling fire curtains

Fire curtains GSF KPR E | EW are easy to install and can be used in both new build and existing buildings, indoors and outdoors, providing peace of mind and complete safety. They are vertical movable partitions separating passages between fire zones in accordance with current fire regulations.

Thanks to their compact design, they work well wherever there is a limited amount of space needed to install the fire curtain.

They are used in public buildings, multi-family residential buildings, production and storage halls, as well as in underground garages, shopping malls and other buildings.
